#280 Iconoclasm.

 Good day, all!

I had mentioned this subject using the term idol-breaking elsewhere before. Here, I want to go a little bit deeper. Here, I want to bring in another aspect: human intelligence. Let me state that I have never undergone an IQ test, and I have no idea about my intelligence. I always go with my instincts and make necessary corrections along the way, using whatever intelligence I have. More like what Malcolm Gladwell had written in his book 'blink'. By the way, for humans, I believe that intelligence is not a separate faculty and it works in tandem with so many others. And it may not be possible for human beings to use only one faculty at a time. It is more like sensory perceptions: all your organs are active, and you may concentrate on one, but at the same time others are also active.

Here I would like to introduce something which Sadhguru says about intelligence, and that is the main reason for this title. He says that intelligence is a tool to dissect, and it cannot stitch back the dissected one. I strongly disagree with this concept, as intelligence is a mind-based process, and its activities may not be compared to actions pertaining to the physical level. In this particular case, I am disagreeing with something Sadhguru said, but I am not causing any harm to him. It may just be a difference in perspective. Say, even his idea of fuzzy logic was questioned by me earlier somewhere. Also, what I said about Sree Krishna- his statement that whatever happened is for good, what is happening is for good, and what is going to happen is also for good. I felt that it was some sort of anticipatory bail for me. He depicted too many people and many things happened around him as bad and killed and destroyed many. But I am not against Krishna and still adore him a lot. By the way, if you want to keep some peace of mind, it is the ultimate mantra you can follow. I break idols using my intelligence and all other faculties of my mind and body, and rebuild them after I have a grasp of what they are. As aware of an unreachable absolute, there is nothing good or bad, and dealing with the past- what happened then and what it led to now makes you reach some conclusions valid only for now.

Another phrase is burning bridges, which many crooked people follow. A lot of scriptures were burnt along the way by many, I believe. Never burn a bridge you crossed or not, as you may have to retrace back to where you were if needed. Extrospection and introspection, both have burnt many bridges, apparently. Like modern science has made real-world cognisance die or taken it to another level for the commons, and common people are trapped, I feel, maybe including me!

#279 Is The Term The United Nations An Oxymoron?

 Good day, all!

I do not know how the word oxymoron evolved. Maybe a moron or a set of morons formed it, and eventually such terms get accepted.

Nations keeping their sense of nation can never come together. United and union have the same origin, and in this world of uniqueness, I am dead against unions. Associations are the better way to represent togetherness, keeping the differences intact. I still feel that the attitude of the American musicians in that performance, USA for Africa,  We Are the World, in 1985, has a better sense. Also, the terms like developing and developed, used to differentiate the countries, are quite a stagnant way. Many countries were in decline, and many were coming up. Both. Developed doesn't mean it will stay developed or keep progressing. They can decline too. All of them need specific approach to do good to them.

My interaction with the so-called United Nations is primarily through my profession, and that part is called the International Maritime Organisation. A lot of morons are sitting up there too. With so many maritime accidents and failures, they still say "safety first". They make the checklist, toolbox meetings, and risk analysis and end up in disasters. They are not even verbally saying that "safety always" should be the motto. It may change the mindset of the people. I can never stop talking if I take up the harm they have done to this industry.

United Nations evolved out of political ways. I posted something about us giving politics a bad name is still very much valid. Just because when I say politicians, they are also a part of me, or rather, they thrive on me. Science is supposed to prevail over politics, but the issue is that the working methods of science and politics are different. Science uses Guinea Pigs, whereas politics uses people instead. From olden-day conquests to present-day politics, I see no difference. Sacrificial goats are plenty, happy to oblige.

Another difference is that scientists are supposed to have high intelligence, but then morons also have intelligence. Shrewdness may be the term I prefer to use for this type of intelligence. And that is the reason why politicians are more powerful than people of science. Just that politicians are happy when people die for a cause which they can justify. Science needs a lot of thinking before action, but a well-qualified moron can be as fast as lightning.

#278 Everything Comes With An Expiry Date.

Good day, all!

This is quite a valid theory for humans, and the reason I'm bringing it up here is to analyse whether the idea of death is valid for this statement itself, too. In line with the creator of the creator issue. Now let us start approaching.

1. Please note that it is meant to be about things, and time and space may be excluded. Previously, I had raised a query about time and space, and let me tell you that space may not be a property of life, or rather, not related to life, but time definitely is, as it may run fast or slow, apparently, due to one's mood swings. Clocks show the time related to celestial bodies and are not based on our own experience.

2. As I have said in a recent post, I may state that there is no pure spirituality for a conscious mind, and any level of extraspection and introspection remains within the realms of materialism. Minor variations to this can happen during meditations in Yogic culture but may be neglected. So, for one alive, one cannot go outside materialism while keeping one's persona intact. Down here, in the Hindu culture sage-like people once achieved some level of ability; the system gives a new name to them, representing their achievement, and thereby alters their persona itself. But I do not think it may really help.

3. Death really doesn't happen to living things. And death doesn't really mean total destruction of something. Any form of transformation, and, like, ideas/ rules getting obliterated by new ones. New inventions making old ones obsolete, etc. I think the point I wanted to project is quite clear, and I want you to analyse whether the statement I have mentioned as the title of the post itself had a Damocles ' sword above it.

4. Greek mythology was derived from extraspection, and Hindu mythology is more intricate and based on introspection. In both, the concept of God is very much alive, and that is why I feel that materialism and theism are mutually exclusive. They co-exist. And the term God is a tough nut to crack, and just following scriptures written years ago may not help you on the way. With the progress of material science so far, miracles alone can not be sufficient as an identity proof for the God may carry. Panacea and elixir are very much in the pipeline, if I had read it right! Let's add one more thing and pause. Hinduism, in its four Vedas, deals with four Yugas, and total destruction occurs at the end of Kali Yuga, and then everything restarts. Surprisingly, 8 people remain alive or rather, come back to the new one, and I am still confused about the total destruction. We have to see whether these concepts also become obsolete.

The idea behind taking up this post is to say that the laws/ rules said in such scriptures may become invalid over a period of time. As the element of death or something similar is unavoidable, my worry is how this statement can remain external to all we perceive! You know a lawmaker also may come under the law!

#277 Money Is Just A Tool; Do Not Use It As A Weapon!

 Good day, all!

I had posted many incomplete ones on the money, too, and I may have to delete them and bring them all together. I just remembered some different aspects, and I just wanted to jot them down.

Whether it is west or east, making it on one's own is the priority, and excelling is the goal set for all. Many fail, and they are treated as failures until they come up in life. It all starts with money, and a few get solace in fame and power, relying on other segments besides education, like sports, arts, and even politics. They may not pay directly, but as I have said, money, power and fame are interconvertible. I am not going to Hindu mythology or the present status of the digital currency system with an intricate computer network. Both are quite heavy to deal with here.

When I say money is a tool, many won't understand, as a tool like a wrench stays with you after you do a job, but money goes away. But please remember that the money leaves you, but it remains in circulation, more like a baton in the relay race.

Amassing wealth without absolute care for at least the society you live in creates so many failures around you and the money you made in excess, and the efforts created those failed humans, with the added effect of snobbery. Enforced corporate social responsibility is in no way going to solve the problem.

PS. Did I ever say about abolishing the Christian prayer 'Our Father in heaven" for at least the rich ones? This one is just the tip of an iceberg!

#276 The Bi-polarity Disorder!

 Good day, all!

Bipolarity is duality; it is quite normal. And that is one reason I am against Advaita Vedanta, which is quite famous over here and accepted very much, too. Actually, I never read anything much about it, and have no idea what it is. But I do not like the word. And I always judge a book by its cover and its name, contrary to the adages. As I have dealt with earlier, I believe, if you accept one, then the whole integer system emerges, and you add zero, and it becomes the foundation of material science and more. If you are not bipolar, then you are not alive; as simple as that.

But there is one bipolar disorder I observed around me: believing that God and the Devil co-exist. If light is there, you can't see the darkness, or rather, light has already beaten darkness. I think we made a mistake in thinking God is good, and we needed somebody responsible for the bad, and so we created the devil!. But good and bad are just complementary and opposing terms, and it really depends on perception. Nobody does anything bad, and 99.99 per cent of the time human beings cause harm to someone due to the circumstances around them. And that is created by careless people around them. And care is the most important term, which weighs too many times more than the most popular word, love, which is quite slippery like an eel all the time.  God and the devil both are created by mankind, and neither of them could have created us. If you are in pursuit of the real creator, you will have to shed these concepts and realise that good and bad are just relative terms and hold no real value!

Another reason for the God and the devil concept was to establish morality where humanity failed. It really needs to delve deeper.

#275 Been Through The Desert On A Horse With No Name!

 Good day, all!

Credit for the title goes to the music troupe America. Actually, I bought all their albums as a soft-copy bundle at a premium price from iTunes. Even before that, the first CD I ever burned on my Compaq R4320 US, bought from Long Beach, was their album The Best of America. I gave it to my steward Paul, who was coming to America for the first time and refused shore leave!

So, coming to the point. I've been at sea on ships, with names much more important than the ships itself, but I never expected the sea to make me do a solo dive to the Challenger Point of the Mariana Trench! Maybe I did it before James Cameron!

Just joking...

#274 A Simple Perspective On Spirituality And Materialism.

 Good day, all!

I had already posted many titles on these, and some are not finished; I have to start elaborating on a few. The reason for this title is to give a bird's-eye view of these topics, and it may remain as the foundation of all arguments on these topics dealt with in the other posts.

As far as I think, materialism prevails, and it will never end up as a religion, as religion is a stagnant state with hard and fast, unquestionable rules/ rituals. The term ritual itself makes it illogical. On the consumer level, materialism may appear as a religion, but I am sure that the top brass of materialism shall maintain it as materialism or rather science.

For us humans, pure materialism is unattainable and, if at all, only at a temporary level. Basically, it is really not relevant to search for the creator or how our life energy works, but it is just like an itch, or curiosity of our own mind, and most of us succumb to it. In earlier days, with limited intellect and science working on basic cognisance, it was quite natural for religions to mushroom. But today, many things which were once considered miracles are happening with the help of modern science, with the touch of your finger. So basically, spirituality, or spiritual seeking, most of the time is an obsessive-compulsive disorder. Sad to say it, but I feel that way.

Now, will spiritual seeking help us in any way? Yes! I may use an analogy from science itself. It is about the centrifugal and centripetal forces of a revolving mass. We can see only the centrifugal force acting. And I had a tough time understanding the centripetal part, and even now I do not have a very clear idea about it. But I am sure it is a valid concept. Introspection and extraspection are analogous to the above forces.

And another thing is that when we see a tree or plant, with flowers or not, we admire it, and we may not care about its roots, which are the most important part, maybe. But we can not dig up the roots, and it may kill the plant. And the same goes for a building or your house, where the foundation is holding it together, but you can't see it.

I think I have said enough, and the purpose of religion/ spiritual powers is not really needed with modern science working well, but desperate ones may go for it, and it will work for them. Miracles still happen, but not under the total control of religions.

I think I included enough...

Spirituality is a bottomless pit and should be entered with a safety line intact, but materialism gives the earth and the skies! Just roam around free!

Just remembered the song by Barclay James Harvest - Life is for living and living is for free. But living is not for free right now(even though nature has a multitude of what is needed to bring it into place), and if at all the so-called new world order comes into place, it should make living a free thing! No more muscle stuff, please. The concept of owning things is the culprit, where we are only caretakers here!

Footnote: Frankly speaking, there is no spirituality for a conscious human mind, and everything is materialism; that is why we have to name things like mind, soul, life energy, etc. That is why Yoga tries to take you out of your consciousness, but I feel it is going to do more harm than help you. Happiness and peace of mind are to be attained by finding out the real reasons why you are devoid of them, or why they are insufficient for you. Maybe you have enough, and you need to make some adjustments to yourself, and Sadhguru's inner engineering may help you. Introspection or extraspection: you never go out of materialism. Also, spirituality may not always be related to the concept of God; introspection is quite possible for a theist and an atheist. You may end up with God, or you may not. But then, if you by accident reach a conclusion that there is no free will for you, even for a minute period, then God evolves by itself, and be ready for a roller coaster ride!

#273 Something About Laplacian Determinism.

 Good day, all!

I googled to find something I read in Stephen Hawking's books or elsewhere, and I ended up with this term. And that was the one I was looking for, but not by Stephen Hawking. Wonderful theory, but it's definitely from one's imagination running wild. Purely extrospective! Bundled with the googling, I came across a lot of theories, and as I am not too interested in prediction or knowing the future, I left them. I may like to proceed with a vision inward and outward and accept reality. And if you know the future and can't do anything to change it ( as if you can alter it, then it is no longer the future and may end with the assumption that the prediction was wrong!), it will be of no use, or rather it will be a nuisance.

All these are similar to watching a movie in the theatre in the olden days, without knowing what is happening in the projector room!

More on this later...

PS. As I said, I hold on to only one theory: that everything in this universe is unique, and I have reasons to accept it. And whatever I write is an absolute truth and similar to a river, which may change its path as needed. The name Albert Einstein chose for his book The World As I See It, too, implies that he was really concerned about the relativeness of this world, and to me, it beats the famous relativity theory and energy-mass conversion formulae he was famous for...

And the word Destiny needs some attention. Shall try to do it.

Also, if the mankind of the world comes together, forgetting all the differences, it may do more wonders than all these extraspective theories. Maybe the last challenge to deal with may be the thiest/ athiest division. But then thinking differently but integrally may solve that issue too!

#272 May Be Sleep Too, Is A Myth!

 Good day, all!

This could have been part of post #025, Death is a myth, but actually, the content of this post was totally overlooked by me in that post. It was always known to me that modern science was never able to crack what happens when one sleeps, and in itself, it was a great achievement for modern science, as all other sciences/ religions accepted it as a normal process. In #025, me too took it as one, but only to realise that it is as complicated as death itself.

First, let us consider the way one sleeps. It is always termed as falling into sleep, and it is never a conscious act. You can never say when you fell asleep, except maybe some people who sleep off the moment they lie down, and I think it is quite rare. And once you are asleep, you are not on the time axis of this world, and I always felt that the transition from consciousness is asynchronous. That makes it a non-conscious one, and you can not remember when you fell asleep. I have no idea what happens when one sleeps. Dreams and nightmares; I have no clue about them. Many say it unwinds you, but I always felt the other way round. You will sleep if you are totally unwound, and sleep winds you up for the next day/ or conscious period. It is just a hunch I have.

Getting up can be more synchronous, as I felt, because the mind takes control of that part. Sometimes it is very close, as you may remember something the moment you regain consciousness and act instantly. Somedody/ something waking you up can have different results.

I do not have more to write on this now and please see this with the post #25.

#271 So, God created mankind in his own image.

Good Day, All!
Another tough nut to crack! Quite debatable, and as far as I know, it can not be true. A conscious mind is limited in its capabilities, and the term God can never match us. Even then, we definitely behave like God. An atheist is better at it. A theist too, if he/ she doesn't know that free will is debatable. Physically, I am sure that man can never be like God, as whatever we see is only illusory and created by our own mind, and God will definitely be beyond this realm. Even those aware of the free will issue can not act all the time on that basis, and it is impossible to do so, too. All of us behave like God (I mean to say like a supreme authority to the limits possible), and I need to analyse how a slave works. So, in a way, this verse from Genesis can be true if the nature of mankind is concerned. Together, anyway, they consider themselves supreme beings on earth, without actually owning anything and without an in-depth knowledge of other living and non-living elements on this earth.

#270 Reverse Engineering! Who Came Up With That Term?

 Good day, all!

I first heard it from a YouTuber, Great Scott, and it was great. But maybe I was familiar with the idea from the late eighties, when I used to do the crossword puzzles from the Indian Express Sunday edition and The Hindu newspaper those days. I was quite confused about how they used to come up with the puzzles every day with quick and cryptic clues. By the way, cryptic ones were easier for me than the straight ones, as I was never good at English, but a bit better at logic. Sooner or later, I realised that they fill up the templates with interlinking words and then make all the clues and give us the empty template every day. It was as simple as that. The same happened earlier, maybe, with Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, as he may create the crime and the scene/ location, etc., and then present us with the missing links that slowly converge to the full story.

More on this later, as it may be more relevant in the search for the so-called absolute truth!
