I do not know to whom the title credit goes! A few months back, I got a T-shirt for my son with this phrase on it. I got a book too, with the same name, which I could not even flip through. I liked the phrase basically because I always liked to keep the child within me, and I hope I managed to do so far.
Now, the reason to bring it up is that I just googled to find more about this phrase and stumbled upon a version which states that the children looked up to the elders and liked their freedom, and the power they held. And once they grew up and realised the responsibility part is a bit unbearable or stressful, they regret the state they reached. And they used this phrase as a warning sign for other children! I was shocked by an absolute misunderstanding of such a wonderful phrase! The term which has to be considered here is 'noblesse oblige', which means privileges entail responsibility.
