Good day, all!
I first heard it from a YouTuber, Great Scott, and it was great. But maybe I was familiar with the idea from the late eighties, when I used to do the crossword puzzles from the Indian Express Sunday edition and The Hindu newspaper those days. I was quite confused about how they used to come up with the puzzles every day with quick and cryptic clues. By the way, cryptic ones were easier for me than the straight ones, as I was never good at English, but a bit better at logic. Sooner or later, I realised that they fill up the templates with interlinking words and then make all the clues and give us the empty template every day. It was as simple as that. The same happened earlier, maybe, with Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, as he may create the crime and the scene/ location, etc., and then present us with the missing links that slowly converge to the full story.
More on this later, as it may be more relevant in the search for the so-called absolute truth!
